Hi! My name is Samantha, but I go by Sam. I am a born and raised Montrealer, ready to be your new Canadian friend! With over 9 years of professional photography experience, I fell in love with capturing love. Photographing couples and weddings has quickly become my favourite, but I am still all for capturing families, newborns and kiddos.

My Origin Story

My journey with photography is a long one. As a kid, you could not keep a camera out of my hands. When I got my first point and shoot, I brought it with me everywhere and took pictures of anything. I was the “official” photographer for my high school sports teams and proms, which compelled me to study Communications and Media in college and university. During that time, I landed a job at a local photography studio and spent nearly six glorious years there learning all the ropes of studio photography. I’ve probably shot thousands of sessions, between families, newborns, engagements, proposals, business and animals!

When I finally finished university, I was so burnt out on all the shooting that I took a two year hiatus, cold turkey. It was the longest I had gone without picking up a camera in my entire life. In May 2021, I started getting the itch to start up again, but this time shooting exclusively in natural light - something completely new to me, since I was a studio girl for so long. I am always down for a challenge, so mastering my craft in natural light has been such a blast for me.

Fun facts about me

  • I'm a cat mom

    I have two amazing cats at home, Tipsy (left) and Tumble (right). Aptly named, because they both have a neurological condition that makes them very wobbly. I love them with all my heart.

  • I'm learning to figure skate

    I have been training with a figure skating coach since 2022 and am loving the progress I have been making so far! Winter Olympics 2026? Hehe.

  • A gem of a life partner

    My boyfriend Chad and I just celebrated our fifth anniversary as a couple. We met in university and have been inseparable ever since. I kind of like him a lot.

  • I am a music lover

    Music is in my blood. My parents met in a band, my sister is a professional singer and I played flute and saxophone for 10 years. I took this shot at one of my sister’s shows!
